Welcome to BSA Troop 325!

We offer the Boy Scouts of America program to all boys in the community who are between the ages of 11 and 18, and to those who are not yet 11 yet but have earned the Arrow of Light as a Webelos.

The troop is sponsored by St. John of Rochester parish, and we meet in the SJR school (10 Wickford Way, corner of route 31 and Wickford). Our weekly troop meetings are held each Wednesday when school is in session.

                                              Meetings:      Wednesdays
                                              Time:             7:00 to 8:30 pm
Location:        St. John of Rochester School

T325 is a boy run troop. Leadership positions are all held by scouts. As the scouts gain experience and earn advancements, they become the leaders in their patrols, and in the troop. They teach the others, and they learn by leading.

Weekly meetings include time for planning events, and time for learning Boy Scout skills including first aid, knots, camping, and cooking. Often there is game in the gym! Some nights it's basketball, other nights capture the flag, or sharks and minnows.

The troop participates in community service activities that support our local community, and help build character. Recent activities included helping with the Fairport Library book sale, and the annual Scouting for Food program. Scouts develop their craft skills as well. Many built their own pair of snowshoes!

Our program includes a monthly campout at one of the various camps in the region. And each summer we have a week long summer camp in the Adirondack Mountains at Camp Massawepie. We own our own tents, and a trailer to make it easier to get food supplies and gear to the camps.

Troop 325 adheres to traditional Boy Scout programs and promotes the three aims of scouting:

Build Character  -  Foster Citizenship  -  Develop Fitness

The troop helps in the development of American citizens who will have a high degree of self-reliance, have personal, stable values, have the desire and skills to help others, and are knowledgeable about and take pride in their American heritage. Citizens who will have respect for the basic rights of all people. We have many dedicated parents who help in the background and on the Troop Committee to insure the programs are successful in achieving these goals, and are also fun for the scouts.

Webelos Pin University

Each year Troop 325 scouts run Webelos Pin University as a way of helping the local Cub Scouts with their rank advancement. It also gives our Boy Scouts an opportunity to practice their leadership skills. If you are a cub scout and would like to register for the next Pin University on 11/5/2011, download and submit this form:  Pin University Registration Form
